For new members there are many things that you need to know and learn.  One of the first things you must do is name your character.  I would strongly suggest that you choose a Roman or Latin name.  Some examples are Brutus, Julius, Marcus, Tiberius, and Caligula.  There are many others and all you have to do is to look up Romans on Yahoo to find a name, or of course you can make up one that sounds Roman.  You don't have to pick a Roman name but other Romans will scorn you as an outsider and a foreign barbarian.

Families
The First 10 Families to submit will be royal.  Also the First Family of each faction shall be noble, such as the Leader of the Knights, that of the Merchants' Guild, and those of the Priests, etc.

How to Join a Faction
It is important that you know that you do not have to join a faction.  You can be just a normal citizen of Rome or even just a peasant.  To become a citizen of Rome you must contact Augustus and tell him why you wish to be a citizen.  He must appoved of you.  Do not be discouraged if he declines you at first, it is very hard to become a citizen and only so many are allowed.  Following is a list if the factions and who to get ahold of to join them.  If there is no one listed to get ahold of then that faction has no leader as of yet.
